You know, it took me long time to find
out. But it could be that way.
The people sent messages to there dead relatives,
with that written pink notes on the coffins. But the
picture is much more complex than that.
These coffins are partly donated by the prayers
in the picture for those dead people that have no
money left or poor family for paying a coffin.
So the people helping the dead (a coffin here
is 500 Baht) by buying one for them.
I think they hope that the dead
who gets burned in it, deliver the message
to the relatives as a "thank you for coffin."
I like that idea.
The women left hold a paper (deed) that is not to put on the coffin.
It is a receipt for their donation. Nearby the
coffins are small prayer places with Buddha
figures and fire where the most burn the receipt
to get acknowledged by god for good
karma in next life.
It`s also possible to bring the contribution receipt to the local tax office.
jesus, it is very far away from my beliefs however seeing the sensibility of the people, no matter who they are, is really amazing...
