Red Winter Heather is a low-growing shrub with magenta colored blooms from januari to april that often start to flower while the plant is still covered in snow.
It’s native to the Alps, the northern Apennines and the Balkans, where it grows in coniferous woodlands or stony slopes.
Dutch name : Winterheide (ook Sneeuwheide genoemd)
German name : Schneeheide
Latin name : Erica carnea rosantha
winterheide – yes, it's beautiful!! and i do remember it from the times before we had rabbits taking over our yard! ; ))) they discovered it as a nice refuge and fast-food restaurant on cold winter days: took to sitting in it for hours in a row, munching happily away on its yummy roots, which naturally and gradually finished the whole plant off. i'm not complaining, of course: "the spirits that i've cited, my commands ignore…" ; )))

Was für eine herrliche Aufnahme! Die FArben, das Licht und der Bildschnitt sind super! Ich hab auch schon öfters versucht, diese kleinen Schönheiten aufzunehmen - war aber mit dem Ergebnis nie zufrieden!
