The whole area in the National Park ‘Hohes Venn’ might look as an innocent meadow, but it is 100% pure swamp !
This desolate swamp can only be traversed by using the wooden paths made by the local foresters (a daring exploit).
It is nearly impossible to leave those wooden paths, as the swamp starts immediately to suck your feet and legs into the depth and the more you struggle to get out, the more the swamp sucks……
This makes swamp hiking a unique experience.
so it must be a special kind of tree with strong roots that allow it to get a good grip of the treacherous soil… another great shot of "hohes venn"! love the "visible" wind blowing through the (swamp) grass and making the clouds go faster… greetings, sabine.
The swamp landscape is so green and beautiful and all surrounding - the wooden path almost disappears into the distance. Splendid view and shot with these dark clouds and light coming through.
