Painted onto the side of Viñales valley

Perhaps the worst tourist attraction in Cuba is the Mural de la Prehistoria.
In 1961 Fidel Castro visited a beautiful valley a few kilometers west of Viñales. He commissioned that the cliff should be painted with snails, dinosaurs, and a family of cavepersons, in garish colors!
The Viñales Mural de la Prehistoria is the work of the former Director of Mapping at the Cuban Academy of Sciences, Leovigildo González Morillo. A master of neo-caveman artistry, Morillo undertook the massive project of portraying world history up until the age of humans on a rock wall in the Viñales Valley.

Sehr gern erinnere ich mich an dieses schöne Viñales-Tal mit den herrlichen Felsen oder der Höhle, wo wir mit dem Boot durchgefahren sind.
Den bemalten Felsen sieht man schon aus der Ferne.
Schade, dass ich damals noch nicht digital fotografiert habe.
Mit Deinem schönen Foto werden Urlaubserinnerungen geweckt.

....wunderschön...die Farben sind klasse und schön hast Du diese Wandmalereien in Vinales mit den Palmenweg aufgenommen....gefällt mir sehr und erinnert mich....VLG Benita
