Summer Blossoms for A Fireworks Festival

31 July 2010. This is a street scene near Asakusa Station, Taito-ku, Tokyo, of the crowd surging towards Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival
--- beautiful, young, Japanese women in their floral yukata!

Every year, on the last Saturday of July, a fireworks festival is held along Sumida River. This is popular summer festival known in Tokyo as Sumidagawa Hanabi Taikai and young ladies often watch the fireworks in their pretty yukata, an informal, cotton, summer kimono.

*lol* your sense of humor never fails! :-)) thanks for your comment, Dietmar. most japanese women don't really appreciate having their picture taken by strangers so i had to make do with taking pictures from behind their backs.
nevertheless, there is a "matsuri" or festival coming up this weekend and i'll try to be there to take more interesting pictures!
    warm regards,
    Cari

Very impressive. But allow me one word: it would me still more impressive if you´ve shot this picture face-on. So one can see if this ladies are really young and beautiful, or you´re only a very kind person. *lol*

    Best regards,
    Dietmar
