The Living Forest (38) : White Deadnettle
In the forest wild flowers, plants, herbs and ferns have started growing again.
The leaves of the White Deadnettle appear superficially similar to those of the Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) but do not sting. The young leaves are even edible and can be used in salads or cooked as a vegetable.
Although often considered as a weed, White Deadnettle has wonderful white flowers.
Dutch name : Witte dovenetel
German name : Weisse Taubnessel
Latin name : Lamium album
