I am a Dutchman living in the US.
I really don't have a favorite subject, as beauty can be *everywhere*,
in *everything*, *all* the time. It's not the equipment, it's the eye (and patience...). Well, uh, and then there is also this vague thing called "taste"......
I welcome your constructive critique to my pictures, I'd love to learn from you.
Thanks for taking the time to view the profile, the pictures and for leaving your comments.

Hello Alfred,
Thanks for your comment on my Frosty Trees. You're right about the birds. My decision to leave them in was wrong. Ever time I look at this image I like them less and less.
Thank you for all your support and comments during the last year. I hope you have a fantastic Christmas season full of joy and blessings
Take care
Deryck

Thank you for your thought, yes the three minutes watching the Shuttle take off was the highlight of my holiday, Florida is amazing and I am going back but to see the Shuttle was very exciting especially as it wasn't supposed to take off at this time but had been delayed.
Thank you for your comments Alfred. Your photos are very beautiful.
Best wishes
Corrina :)
...Oh i would have put a picture beside this comment but i dont know how to! :)
Yes..Alfred; you are right about the leaf....I didn't have the guts to crop...
I go by intuition...its kind of a feeling that ...the flowers call me...I go, get the feeling and shoot. Same with all others I think....the trees, ducks, etc.....That's me :)) the emotional lady :))
Hey there, Thanks for all the assistance! :-)
I did more work on the body, the left wing tip at the bottom,
and the antenna...still not thrilled with the antenna,
but I will accept them and go on with life. ;-)
Hope you are feeling much better!
Have a great weekend!
Dianna

Thanks Alfred, I don't put anything on that stick ,it's common that these flies always are looking for a little stick to land on , so I just put one up in my backyard and it helped ...as you can see.....;-))

Hi Alfred.
I appreciate you kind words on my photos as well. I think, FotoCommunity is great for making friends, and teaching you more about the art!!!
My country (Indonesia) have more unique place that very interested for photographer around the world. Million of interesting objects you can explore about: Landscape (13.500 islands including small island here!), Cultures (400 languages and rules), Historical Site (two of the many world heritages is here: Toraja site and Borobudur), people photograph, journalistic photo and many more.
As such tropical country, Indonesia have two climates, "Kemarau" (like Summertime) and "Hujan" (like winter, but no snow, just raining).
You can take a shoot anytime, but the best time to capturing photograph just as landscaping or out door photograph (or something like that) are the (a:m) time and (p:m) time. Aside from that, the sunlight so strong.
In the best time and surely opportune camera, you can be capturing the beautiful color.
Base on my pic which you comment, majority the color is true. I was taken with polarizing filter. It is a magic filter to carried out a "hidden color". For instance, you need capturing blue sky in "white sky". Using it.
So, after that, i get more benefit in PS's filter. It is a super sophisticated software for burning, dodging, and more filter, etc.
Hi Alfred,
thanks for your comment,
in grand Central Station we walk around, i look behind a closed door, and take this picture. And nobody have a look of me :-)

Dear Alfred,
I'm sorry but I don't speak English. My wife could translate some verses of Esenin poetrys, but, obviously, the
"poeticality" will be lose and it will remain only the meaning, the sense.
I advise you to buy an English version of Esenin poetrys, so you could know him better!
See you
Massimo
Hi Alfred! Thank you very much for your nice comment on my photo with apples. Yes, I agree with Sue about the corner as well, and I will try to do better next time! :) You are right it is the perfect place here to learn more about photography!
Dear Alfred
Thank you for all the nice comments on my pics. It is good to know that somebody is looking at them ...
All the best for your pogressing photo projects and the best wishes for nice light ...
best regards from Switzerland - thierry
Cheers Alfred. Alright, next up will be a few pics from Brooklyn (Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights).
As to my Indian Summer shot, it probably looks more elaborate than it really is.. (it's not even 100% sharp, reason why I chose the blurry setting, to sort of emphasize the colors in the center of the pic). I used picasa to add the blur to my straight jpg out of my p&s. the result is surprisingly good I also find.
Where are you in NJ?
