I love taking photgraphs -sometimes I get lucky, sometimes I don't.
I just have to resolve to get out more with the camera !!
I use a Nikon D70 & a Panasonic DMC FZ-20
Please try to leave a comment where possible. Even where you think it is a bad photo. One of the reasons I joined a site like this was to look for advice on where to improve. Without feedback it just becomes a glorified gallery !!
Wow, I love your style and pictures...! Well done, and if you're ever in London and need a buddy to join you for some street photography, well I'm always up for that. Keep up the great work .
Armin
Hi Rob,
every time I see photos like yours I realized how much I have to do to reach that point.
Wow.
Really wonderful images.
I wish I could learn how to catch and fix my emotions like you can do with your camera.
Ciao
Marco
Thanks for your comment on my seagull photo. As for the sharpness, I posted this picture before I knew you have to sharpen photos after resizing them for upload. The original is much better.
thanks again
regards
Tony
Thanks Rob, That what happens when you hesitate taking pictures, the blades were turning very, very slowly. I was standing beside a very busy road, nervous of the traffic so I was only half consentrating on the job.
Regards.
Congrats on your gallery admission for PURPLE.
A prestidigitator should never tell the whole secret to his spell. You conjurer of magic. What do you have up your sleeve next?
Rob,
About your comment on my profile - modesty smodesty. I love your humility, but damn it, get your shit to New York! Tell your brother if he needs a contact to let me know.
Hi Rob,
Came by to see what was new. Just wanted to let you know this is dedicated to the people of FC that have inspired me, that includes you. Thanks. I love your abstracts!! Shared them with a art professor friend, he agrees with me that you need to be exhibiting them somewhere in a real gallery.
Hi Rob! thanks for your comments on "Stonehenge" and yep your right, also I imported the sky and done some dodging on the stones. So I guess it must be digiart.

2¢ is short for "my two cents". It's an american saying that means "to give my valued opinion" or something like that. Sometimes I forget that some things are regional in nature, and the web isn't.

Hi Rob!
Just I wanted to greet and to tell you that now yes, I understand that of the turned letters. And I believe that it is not pretentious at all.
Greetings,
Josep Antoni
Thanks Rob for your comment,I allways have this problem of down loading these pictures. I supose I'll get it right some time in the distant future.
Regards.
Thanks for your comment on the photo showing St John/Rotunda Church....The photos were in fact taken in two different days..cloudy/sunny..I tried to create sun rays in the Rotunda photo to match the other photo (using psp8)....not my desired effect but I sent it anyway
Thanks again..
By the way looked at your photos...really professional.
Mario
Hey Rob,
Cheers for the comment, I understand where your coming from and not being a train spotter myself I just took a few quick snaps and maybe not concentrated on the 'fuller' picture. I like many of your images. Have you ever considered using filters for b&w images? Yellow and red filters can work wanders although i am only a novice on this side of it myself. I would suggest to experiment and see what happens. They can add real impact to you piccies.
Take it easy.
Cheers, Tom
Hi Rob, just thought ild swing by and say thanks for stopping off on my page. Postart is slowly moving foward, weve had our first arrival of stock now (postcards, wahey!) and the website will be up by the end of the week so we can offically get the cards out to our stockists in time for the festival of the sea and hopefully the fleet review coming up. As for being a photographer its more trying to develop my portfolio at the moment which why im trying almost any sort of shot possible be it random stock to stusio more landscapes. Each classification has its own style and approach that have to be experianced to be appreciated. Postart is another of these, actually putting your own money where your mouth is and putting postcards out. It could flop or it could be a nice little earner, ill keep you updated but i could be begging for bread and wine soon (lol!)
As for portsmouth, the only beautiful thing is the thought of not living here one day. Luckily anything north of the city is beautiful espically the meon valley.
Again thanks for stopping by man, much appreciated
Thank you for your comment on my photo 'Before the ball' the people in the background you can see is actually the reflection in a mirror of the back of my daughter and me taking the photograph :-)
I'm an ex brit myself - was born and bred in Orpington Kent (15miles outside london) so hello to you and yours from me and mine here in Australia
Hi Rob, the drops of blood were added using the eliptical marquee tool and the custom shape tool. Where at the top you can select from a drop down bar, various shapes that you could expriment with, After adding the colour go to select and choose deselect and repeat the process. I think knack to this letting of blood is making it look convincing,
Thanks for your comments.
Regards John.
Hi Rob...
Yes I had a post production for my photos...
In fotografer.net (photographer society in Indonesia) everybody called RDP Style...Its my own style.
Tanks Rob.
Hi Rob,
Thank you for looking my pics - to take photos of bridges and other monumental construktions is one of my hobbies - I´m trying to improve the technik , but -everytime the same problem - too less time.
So I hope you`l have more and you´l show us a lot of fine pictures - I will wait
Regards from Cologne
C.B.
Hi Rob, Thanks for your kind words to Glencoe I took this the with an old Contax 139 a real work horse thats been dropped umpteen times its lost its outer leather skin and is in .a real sad state of affairs. But I loath to part with it I also have a finepix S5000 which does'nt compare though its a good little snapper. I might update the Contax for another but with a titanium shutter and, heavens above a built in moterdrive, so you see I'm very loathed to part from our dear beloved film format.
I think your "chedder" picture would look good in b/w
with strong tones that could be good, I will add you buddies and let you what negative vibes I feel!
With kind regards.
Thank you for your comments.
Most people on this site wont leave
a negative comment. I NEED negative comments
in order to take better pictures.
I also agree with your comment on "Cheddar".
Sometimes you need to get down and dirty to get the best in life. I say cliches like that to myself as I lay face down in the forest or in a parking lot to take a picture. : )
Thanks again!
G'day Rob, fairdinkum mate you are welcome to Australia anytime, make sure you get tham camera's ready though.
If you are heading to the Pilbara, make sure you have plenty of memory for your camera and she'll be apples mate.
Tell you what, we will even throw a shrimp on the barbie for you.
Thanks for your comment, take care and happy shooting.
Hi, Rob. Yes, I did start with a Lumix FZ and loved it. But while I was still in the trying out stage and could return the camera, I decided I would outgrow it down the road. Since I don't want to keep buying cameras to keep up with the latest and greatest, I reluctantly turned in that fantastic camera for a Canon Rebel XT that I hope to use for a very long time. I'm loving it and using different lenses but I miss the portability of the Lumix--only one piece of equipment and that fast lens. My biggest complaint was that it had a lot of noise but Noise Ninja would take care of that. Obviously, you use the Lumix very well. Cheers, Helen
thank´s for Your comment on my picture 'Rose'. To be honest, I already had the same thought. I think it´s due to the large petals and their structure. Nevertheless I like it, I can place it either in the bedroom or in the dining room ;-)
Hi, Rob, thanks for looking at JH Fountain. It is actually a large ugly fountain made of long rectangular pipes, located in a public square at Embarcadero Center in SF. However, when the light is right, you can take close ups of some of the angles and it becomes very interesting photographically. Esp. if you can play with the bland beige color in Photoshop.
