Sebastian Weidenbach, born at the end of the 1960’s in Munich, raised in Munich and Lower Bavaria, discovered his passion for photography in Berlin in 1993.
Initially, he photographed mostly in black and white, today almost soley in color. What fascinates him, is what upon a firste glance, appears to be the imperfect, the disintegrating, the disregarded and discarded.
„I attempt to capture the beauty, which i think is inherent in these places and
moments. I capture things as I encounter them”.
Music and travelling plays a major role in his life and work. Punk, Blues, Trash, Rock n Roll and Country music, far from the confinements of the mainstream are what he is drawn to and inspired by. At times that passion takes him half across the globe.
His music photography represents the raw, the gritty and the always
authentic aspect of this music.
“You can hear music. Feel it. And see it.“
Delaney Davidson – The One Man Renegade Ghost Orchestra
“Every time I worked with him I was impressed with his deliberation, and often surprised at the results he is capable of. He even got a photo of me smiling, and that is an accomplishment.”
Marc A. Littler - Slowboat Films
“Sebastian's photography proves two things: There is beauty to be found in what most people consider broken and rust represents history not only decay.”
Honkeyfinger – The One Man Band from the Bowels of the Earth
“The shadow cowboy turns up in the most unexpected places and shares the good times. He makes us all look good and paints the light like we're living ife to the full - what more can one ask?
Nachtrag:
